The figures
How your estimate is worked out
We work out how long the job takes from your answers: the rooms and their rough sizes, what's being painted (walls, ceilings, skirting, doors, windows and radiators), the condition of the surfaces and the preparation they need, and anything extra such as fresh plaster, wallpaper, coving, banisters, kitchen cabinets or outside woodwork.
The labour is shown as a range, and the materials are added at cost. Every part of the price is shown: labour, any small-job admin charge and materials, with nothing hidden. The written quote after the visit confirms the price, including anything an online estimate can't know, such as travel outside our usual areas or hidden damage, before you agree to anything.
- Materials at cost
Paint and materials are charged at what they cost us, with no markup. They typically add 25–35% on top of the labour. Supplying your own paint? Then the estimate only includes sundries such as filler, caulk and tape.
- No VAT to add
Didov Limited isn't VAT-registered, so there's no VAT on top of our prices.
- No minimum job
If the labour comes to less than £400, we add a small-job admin charge to make up the difference, up to £150 at most. So £300 of labour becomes £400, and £200 becomes £350.

An online estimate is valid for 30 days. After a visit, with no call-out fee, we confirm the price in a written quote, and that's the price you agree to.

Common questions
Is the online estimate a quote?
No. It's an estimate worked out from your answers, and it's valid for 30 days. We then visit, with no call-out fee, to measure up and check the surfaces, and send you a written quote. The written quote is the price you agree to.
Is there a call-out fee?
No. You can get an estimate online, or from photos, videos or a floorplan you send us, and there's no call-out fee when we visit to measure up.
Is there a minimum charge?
There's no minimum job. If the labour comes to less than £400, we add a small-job admin charge to make up the difference, up to £150 at most. Our online estimate includes it, so you see it from the start.
Do you charge VAT?
No. Didov Limited isn't VAT-registered, so there's no VAT to add to our estimates, quotes or invoices.
Is anything saved on my device?
No. Your answers stay in the open page while you fill it in: there are no cookies, and nothing is saved in your browser. When you ask to see your estimate, it's emailed to us with your answers and contact details so we can follow it up. Our privacy notice explains how we look after them.
