About us

Our own team, and everything in writing

We employ the people who do the work, and we never subcontract, so you know who's working in your home. Every job is properly documented, from the estimate and quote to the invoice and receipt.

What we do

Interior painting and decorating is our main trade: walls, ceilings including new plaster, woodwork and skirting, coving, and the filling, sanding and caulking that go before them. We make good after other trades, offer colour advice, and match colours accurately using digital tools.

We also take on handyman work, plastering, garden work and clearances, across Middlesex, Kent, Surrey, Dorset, Wiltshire and Hampshire.

Questions

Common questions

Is there a call-out fee?

No. We can give you an estimate from a site visit, or from photos, videos or a floorplan you send us.

Can you give me an estimate from photos?

Yes. Attach photos or a floorplan to your enquiry, or email us photos and videos, and we'll estimate from those. If we need to see the job in person, we'll arrange a visit.

Do you mark up materials?

No. Materials are charged at cost, with no markup. If you'd rather buy your own paint and materials, that's fine too.

Which paints do you use?

Mainly Dulux Trade and Armstead Trade paints, applied with Purdy brushes and rollers. If you've already chosen a paint, we're happy to use it.

Do you need a deposit?

Only on jobs over £500: we ask for 20% up front, and the balance when the job is finished.

How can I pay?

By card or bank transfer. If you'd like your payments protected, we're also happy to use Trusted Payments.

Can I pay through Trusted Payments?

Yes, if you prefer. It's the milestone-payment system included in the government's August 2026 measures against cowboy builders. You pay in agreed stages, each released only after you sign it off, and the final payment is held by an independent ombudsman until the job is finished. It includes a warranty during the work and for up to 2 years after completion (12 months on jobs up to £2,500), and independent dispute resolution. Trusted Payments is a separate company that charges you a transaction fee, set out at the start; see trustedpayments.uk for full details.

Will I get a written quote and invoice?

Yes. Every job is documented: an estimate, a written quote, an invoice, and a receipt when you pay.

Do you use subcontractors?

No. We employ our own team, and they do the work. We don't subcontract.

Are you insured?

Yes. We have public liability and employers' liability insurance.

Can you help me choose colours?

Yes. We offer colour advice, and we can match an existing colour accurately using digital colour-matching tools.

Can you take rubbish away?

Yes. We're a registered upper-tier waste carrier (CBDU655944), so we can take away waste from your job, and we also do clearances.

Do you do electrical, gas or roofing work?

We don't do gas work, electrical work that needs certifying, roofs or scaffolding. We'll refer you to other businesses for those.

Which areas do you cover?

Middlesex, Kent, Surrey, Dorset, Wiltshire and Hampshire. We'll also consider larger jobs further afield.

Do you work for landlords, letting agents and businesses?

Yes, we'd be glad to hear from landlords, letting agents and commercial customers.
